Pompano Beach, Florida – For 10 days, one of Pompano Beach’s key marine passages will go quiet beneath McNab Road. Beginning Wednesday, July 22, no boats will be allowed to travel under the bridge as crews move into one of the most sensitive stages of a major reconstruction project.
The short-term shutdown is designed to prevent a far bigger risk. Heavy machinery, bridge demolition, debris removal and structural work will be taking place directly above the navigational channel, leaving no safe way for marine traffic to pass through while the work is underway.
City officials are urging boaters, marina operators and others who use the waterway to adjust their plans before the closure begins. The restriction will apply to all navigation beneath the McNab Road Bridge and is expected to remain in place for 10 days. Should the schedule change, the city said it will issue an update…
