A 16-year-old is facing a serious felony charge after Louisville Metro Police arrested him Thursday, July 23, 2026, in connection with a late-night shooting in the city’s Jacobs neighborhood. The gunfire broke out around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, near the intersection of Georgetown Place and Liberty Bell Way, and the juvenile has been charged with first-degree assault.
According to WAVE, LMPD spokesperson Adam Sears said detectives from the department’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit, working with the Violent Crime Unit and analysts at the Real Time Crime Center, tracked down the teen and made the arrest on July 23. Sears told WAVE the 16-year-old was booked on a first-degree assault charge and that the investigation is still very much active.
