LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Susan Maddox, owner of American Hat Company, was in Lincoln this week for the National High School Finals Rodeo at the Sandhills Global Event Center, where she appeared at the Western Expo and Trade Show alongside the arena competition.
Maddox was born in Cozad, Nebraska, in 1960. She lived there until age eight, when her family relocated to eastern Wyoming. The family farm outside of Cozad remains in the family today, and her mother still lives in Gothenburg.
She met her husband, Keith Maddox, in Torrington, Wyoming, where she worked part-time at a western store during summers and he worked as a Tony Lama boot representative.
