Family, friends, veterans, and supporters gathered in Wesleyville on Saturday for the 15th Annual Cpl. Jarrid King Memorial motorcycle ride. the event honora the life and sacrifice of Corporal Jarrid King, who was killed while serving overseas years ago.
The event began with a ceremony featuring speeches, moments of reflection, and a 21-gun salute to remember King and other fallen members of the U.S. military. This year’s gathering carried added significance as community members also honored service members who were recently killed in the line of duty.
“It’s a day filled with tears, but it’s a day filled with smiles,” Frank Hall, the Wesleyville Post Commander said as riders prepared to begin the memorial ride.
Jarrid’s father, Don King, said the event continues to grow each year thanks to the overwhelming support from the community. “This being the 15th year, it gets bigger and better every year. The people we have that come up and support not only our event but our Wounded Warriors, they are the best they can be,” King said…
