If you thought construction and road work was bad enough in the Greater Lansing Area, get ready, because it’s about to get even worse.
If you live in or commute around the Lansing area, there will be two new freeway ramp closures that will affect highway traffic, and perhaps the typical routes you take.
Which Freeway Ramp Closes First?
The first closure starts on Monday, July 27 in Clinton County. Beginning Monday, the ramp from I-69 eastbound to U.S. 127 southbound will be closed. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) said that we can expect that closure to last through October 23. That’s over 12 weeks of roadwork.
Second Lansing-Area Ramp Closure Starts August 3
We have a little more time to prepare for the second closure. The second closure is happening in Eaton County from Monday, August 3 to Thursday, August 6. You can expect the ramp from I-96 westbound to I-69 southbound to be closed during that time for “high-surface treatment and epoxy overlay”.
