Leon County celebrates 25th anniversary of Dr. B.L. Perry Branch Library

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Dr. B.L. Perry Jr. Branch Library Saturday with a community event highlighting the library’s history and its continued impact on Tallahassee’s Southside.

The library is named in honor of Dr. Benjamin L. Perry Jr., a community leader who served as the sixth president of Florida A&M University and dedicated years of service as a Sunday school teacher at a local church.

Local leaders said the anniversary celebration was about more than commemorating the building’s history. It also recognized the role the library has played in providing generations of residents with access to education, technology and community resources…
