An off-duty Montgomery County firefighter was arrested on Thursday evening following a 4-vehicle crash that sent multiple people to the hospital, Conroe police said.
According to the Conroe Police Department, officers responded to a major crash at the intersection of Avenue M Extension and Cedar Way Street at about 7:40 p.m.
Investigators said that a Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Avenue M Extension and stopped before trying to turn onto Cedar Way. At that time, a Chevrolet Tahoe also traveling eastbound failed to control its speed and veered into oncoming traffic, police said. The Tahoe scraped the Accord and then hit a Chevrolet Suburban head-on, officials said, adding that a Toyota Rav4 also traveling eastbound then hit the Tahoe.
