GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A person of interest is in custody after allegedly shooting a man to death and leading officers on a nearly 10 mile-long chase across Grand Rapids early Sunday morning.
Police responded to reports of a shooting near the 3500 block of East Mall Drive SE off E Beltline Avenue around 1:30 a.m. An adult man was pronounced dead at the scene.
News 8 crews at the scene saw a heavy police presence around Dames N’ Games, a topless bar on East Mall Drive SE, though officers would not confirm where the shooting took place. They did not say what led up to the shooting.
