SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Grand Strand Marine just returned from a 10-month deployment, and he came to a Surfside bowling alley Saturday to say thank you.
Kamdyn Ross served aboard the USS Iwo Jima with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. He said the Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina sent his shop four or five care packages each during his deployment.
“I just came back from the 22nd MEU on the Iwo Jima, and the Blue Star Mothers, they sent us probably like four or five packages between each person in my shop,” Ross said. “Like, we each got like four or five packages, so I wanted to come out here and, I guess, give back to them for looking out for us.”…
