DENVER (KDVR) – In spite of the ongoing heatwave, a local women’s motorcycle group is moving forward with its annual all ages charity event to raise awareness on animal welfare on behalf of a local shelter.

The Mile-High Babes told FOX31 that Wheels and Whiskers is a full go, but they’ll have extra precautions available to help, as the animal friendly event encourages people to bring their pets out.
The event will include multiple cooling booths, which includes a water bowl as well as cooling mats to help the four-legged friends stay cool, especially with the potential for record high temperatures.
Attendees are encouraged to bring cooling items, water and sunscreen; however, the event will have items on hand for those who may need extra help with keeping cool.

All donations will go back towards the Riverdale Animal Shelter, as the event features raffles, a petting zoo, food trucks and plenty of other activities.
