Free parking at state beaches for Governor’s Bay Day

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — Despite the weather not being the best outside, Sunday is the 37th Annual Governor’s Bay Day celebration.

Perks of the event include free parking at all state beaches and free round-trip bus service. The public can also take advantage of free saltwater fishing throughout the whole weekend.

The first-ever Bay Day was held in 1989 to remind Rhode Islanders of the fragility of Narragansett Bay and coastal waters…
