VOLNEY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The cause of an overnight fire at the Bristol Hill Transfer Station has been revealed to be lithium-ion batteries that were thrown away and not disposed of properly.
This is the second fire caused by lithium batteries at the landfill in the last two years. Here in Syracuse, the improper disposal of lithium batteries has become a reoccurring issue.
