Las Vegas is preparing to welcome a new kind of spectacle this fall, one built entirely around gospel music. A newly announced concert series called Legends of Gospel Vegas Residency will bring together some of the genre’s most celebrated voices, including Fred Hammond, the Clark Sisters and Deitrick Haddon, for performances at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
The residency represents a significant shift for a city long associated with pop spectacles and late night entertainment, offering gospel music a dedicated and prominent platform in one of the world’s most recognized entertainment destinations.
When and where to catch the shows
The residency officially kicks off with two opening performances on Thursday, Oct. 8, and Friday, Oct. 9. Doors will open at 7 p.m. both nights, with performances beginning at 8 p.m. The series is being presented by IKON Presents in collaboration with Dr. Holly Carter and her company, Relévé Entertainment, both of which have played a central role in bringing the concept to life.
The Clark Sisters bring decades of gospel legacy
Among the residency’s headliners are the Clark Sisters, a group made up of Jacky Clark Chisholm, Dorinda Clark Cole, Karen Clark Sheard and Elbernita Twinkie Clark. Often referred to as the first ladies of gospel, the Grammy winning group has spent decades reshaping the sound of the genre by blending traditional Black church music with elements of R&B, funk and pop.
Several of their most enduring songs have become gospel standards over the years, helping cement their influence across multiple generations of artists working both inside and outside the gospel space.
Fred Hammond adds a defining voice to the lineup
Joining the Clark Sisters is Fred Hammond, a singer, songwriter, musician and producer whose career now spans more than four decades.
