Excavation work has begun on the Addison Lake LLC housing development at 1594 Lake Center St. NW in Uniontown. Addison Lake purchased nearly 96 acres of farmland in Lake Township, according to the latest real estate transfers covering June 27 through July 3 filed with the Stark County Auditor’s Office. The property was transferred from Lake Center Street Acres LLC for $2,369,250.
The proposed development will include 198 single-family lots with public water and sewer. Home construction could begin in 2026. The project is planned on the same property where the Lake Township Zoning Commission and Lake Township Board of Trustees denied a zoning change last year that would have allowed construction of 321 condominiums following opposition from area residents.
The farmland is one step closer to becoming a residential subdivision after Addison Properties secured key public support for the infrastructure that will serve the 198 homes south of Lake Center Street NW. The project relies on tax-increment financing and county support to build water, sewer and other underground utilities intended to address long-standing service gaps in the area.
