On July 27, T-Mobile experienced a widespread outage that left tens of thousands of customers without service. The disruption affected not only T-Mobile’s primary network but also several of its subsidiaries, including Mint Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile.
In response to the outage, T-Mobile issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to restoring service as quickly as possible. “We know how critical it is to stay connected, and every available resource is focused on resolving this as quickly as possible,” the company said.
At the height of the outage, more than 64,000 users reported issues with their service, according to data from Downdetector. The outage sparked a wave of frustration among customers, many of whom took to social media to share their experiences.
On the social platform X, users vented their irritation and shared how they were coping with the service disruption. One user humorously noted, “Chili’s guest WiFi saving me from being stuck in SOS mode right now because of T-Mobile outage.”
Others expressed dissatisfaction with their phone bills amid the outage, with comments like, “I pay too much on my phone bill for T-Mobile not to be working,” and “T-Mobile got under my skin a lil bit.” Another frustrated customer reported having their phone stuck on SOS mode for three hours, while some asked for a discount once service was restored.
The outage also affected Mint Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile, which saw thousands of outage reports-3,261 and 2,141 respectively-on the same day.
As T-Mobile works to resolve the issue, customers continue to await a full restoration of service and hope for improved reliability in the future.
