An employee faces theft charges after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the Palmyra American Legion Post to play skill games, police say.
Western Lebanon County Regional Police charged Cheyenne Shafer, 25, with theft by unlawful taking, access device fraud, and tampering with evidence.
The charges were filed after members from the Quigley Baum American Legion Post 72 at 975 East Main Street contacted police in March about money withdrawn with the Legion’s debit card. According to court documents, Shafer allegedly made $5,720 in unauthorized ATM withdrawals from the Legion’s bank account.
