Ohio man sentenced to 15 years for drug charge arising from 120 mph chase

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The case against two out-of-state men whose high-speed attempt to flee police ended with them facing federal drug charges is closed, after the final defendant was sentenced Friday.

Ahmad Marques Moore, 27, of Akron, Ohio, and Dean Michael Blair, 25, of Snellville, Ga., led police on a chase reaching speeds of 120 mph through Floyd and Pike counties on June 20, 2024. During the chase, a package was thrown from the car, which turned out to contain 885 grams of meth when police recovered it.

The chase was eventually called off due to the danger to the public, after the fleeing car shut off its lights and began driving in the oncoming lanes, nearly hitting other vehicles. Police later found and arrested the suspects at a home in Shelbiana…
