KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Amtrak has canceled multiple Missouri River Runner trains between Kansas City and St. Louis after a train derailment in St. Louis County blocked the route.
In a travel advisory, Amtrak said that due to trains blocking the route, Missouri River Runner trains 311, 316, 318 and 319 are canceled between Kansas City and St. Louis. Amtrak said bus transportation is being provided and apologized for the inconvenience.
The disruption comes after a coal train derailment Sunday in St. Louis County. Officials said 26 cars on a 135-car Union Pacific coal train derailed near Lewis Street, close to the Crescent Farms Golf Club. There were no injuries reported, and officials said no hazardous materials were in the cars, but both tracks in the area were compromised…
