EMS workers officially join Evansville firefighters’ union

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Evansville City Council voted to make EMS workers officially part of the firefighters union.

The new agreement gives EMS employees  about a 4% pay increase. It also includes updated wage schedules, “health insurance benefits and continued retirement coverage.

The contract covers paramedics, EMT’s and EMS supervisors through the end of 2027.  EMS services were previously operated by American Medical Response before joining the Evansville Fire Department on July first…
