EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Evansville Police Department’s participation in the annual national night out campaign is back, this time at a new location.
Due to construction this year’s event took place at the civic center courtyard. Multiple branches of law enforcement were in attendance, including the police department SWAT team and the bomb squad.
“National night out, it’s a national event. happens the first Tuesday of August every year all across the United States,” Community Engagement Coordinator Emily Earhart said. “And it has been a great time. We have a lot of restaurants, businesses, community organizations that are just out here with school supplies and different resources and free food. so it’s a great event for all families.”…
