So, the other day, I was driving down Alcoa Highway (State Road 61) and saw that there were white spray-paint squares around different holes along that road. It clearly was a sign that there would be some patching and repairs coming to that stretch of road. I thought for sure that would be announced soon, but as it turns out, another major project will be coming to Boonville first.

Lane Closures Planned for State Road 62 in Warrick County
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation Southwest, there will be some lane closures coming to State Road 62 in Boonville. That’s easily the stretch of road in Boonville that sees the most traffic, so this will surely affect a lot of commuters.
Here’s what you need to know. Beginning on or around Monday, August 3rd, crews will begin alternating lane closures on State Road 62 near Boonville. These lane closures will occur over the Carter-Taylor ditch and Cypress Creek. That is this area below, for those who need a visual:
Officials say that the alternating lane closures will allow for a bridge deck overlay project. So, how long will the lane closures in this area be going on? According to INDOT, the work is expected to last through the end of August, depending on the weather. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction…
