INDIANAPOLIS — A mom is facing five charges after she was allegedly driving drunk with three small children in her car on Thursday on the near north side of Indianapolis.
Shyann Cole, 28, was charged with the following:
- Neglect of a Dependent, a Level 6 Felony
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Level 6 Felony
- Operating a Vehicle With an ACE of .15 or More, a Level 6 Felony
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident, a Class B Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Class C Misdemeanor
An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was dispatched to 17th St. and Central Ave. on Thursday, July 23, at approximately 2:13 a.m. on a report of a personal injury crash where the suspect attempted to flee.
Upon arrival to the scene, which was four blocks from the crash site, he was met by Cole and three children. Cole had several cuts to her legs and forearm, as well as a strong smell of alcohol, according to court documents.
