Temperatures as high as 100 degrees are forecast for areas of the Florida Panhandle on Tuesday, July 28, triggering a rare extreme heat warning as moisture funnels in at the eastern edge of a dangerous heat dome.
The extreme heat warning reaches from Pensacola through Carrabelle, with a heat advisory in effect for areas including Tallahassee through Orlando.
It’s the first extreme heat warning issued for the western Panhandle this year, according to the National Weather Service office in Mobile, which forecasts for that area.
