Google data center water use raises groundwater concerns in Columbia County

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – For the past two decades, South Carolina’s Google data center has complied with multiple environmental permits, and Columbia County’s Google data center has one of the most restrictive covenants in the country.

Environmental experts say, however, that the ordinance does not eliminate all concerns.
