Chianti South set to re-open in Little River under new ownership

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — A popular Little River Italian restaurant is returning with a new look and feel.

Chianti South, located just before the North Carolina state line on Highway 17, is planning to re-open soon under new ownership.

The restaurant originally opened back in 1997 and was known for its Italian cuisine and award-winning wine list. It closed down in 2024 after a property sale, but new ownership — led by popular North Carolina restaurateur James Lane — will re-open the restaurant under the same name.

“There will be remodeling, for sure,” a spokesperson with Lane’s organization told MyHorryNews. “You’ll see some updates in the building, but it will be a similar menu and dining experience. I think we will open back up with the same nostalgic feeling that people have always had at Chianti South.”…
