‘It’s a small fraction’: French Quarter shops hurt by construction give mixed reactions to grants

New Orleans city officials announced on Monday that $97,500 in grant funding will go to 26 businesses impacted by ongoing construction in the French Quarter along Decatur and St. Peter streets — to mixed reaction from local shops.

Applicants approved for the “Business Stabilization Fund” were notified late last week and will receive either $5,000 or $2,500, according to a document provided by Mayor Helena Moreno’s administration.
