WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — Crews responded to a house fire in West Jordan on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Chris Trevino, Deputy Fire Chief with the West Jordan Fire Department, they received reports of a house fire near 4100 W Cheltonham Way around 1:25 p.m. Approximately thirty seconds after dispatch put out the call, a police officer arrived on scene and kicked in the front door to see if anyone was home.
The officer saw smoke and flames and reported this. Only a few minutes later, crews with West Jordan Fire Department, Unified Fire Authority, and West Valley City Fire Department arrived on scene.
Initially, crews attacked the fire from the exterior and were able to bring it under control. At this time, Trevino says they are working to extinguish hot spots and ensure the fire is fully out.
Fortunately, Trevino says that nobody was home at the time, and they have since made contact with the homeowner. Once the fire is fully out, the fire investigator will determine the cause…
