PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An annual event celebrating the legacy of Portland’s jazz scene has been canceled.
The Vanport Jazz Festival will no longer take place this year, organizers recently announced. The event has been postponed to 2027 due to “historically low ticket sales,” according to the website.
“Despite the incredible enthusiasm for our artists, sponsors and supporters, the overall economic climate and revenue did not reach the level needed to produce the festival at the standard of quality and experience we promised,” the festival wrote in a statement on social media. “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to cancel the event rather than deliver an event that falls short of our expectations.”
