Bayonne Fire Department makes quick work of a residential porch fire on Monday

The Bayonne Fire Department made quick work of a residential porch fire on Monday, needing less than an hour to extinguish the blaze, according to Acting Deputy Fire Chief Theodore Wolf.

At approximately 3:34 p.m. yesterday, the Bayonne FD was dispatched to 127 West 27th Street following reports of a fire, Wolf said in a statement.

Upon arrival, responding companies encountered a fire on the exterior porch and side of the residence. Firefighters quickly deployed a hand line and extinguished the blaze. The fire was declared under control at approximately 4:15 p.m.

All occupants of the residence were safely evacuated by the Bayonne Police Department and no injuries have been reported…
