Mexican man sentenced to near decade in prison for meth trafficking in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Mexican man was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to nearly a decade in federal prison for possessing more than 50 pounds of methamphetamine.

The U.S. Department of Justice said 27-year-old Pablo DeJesus Peralta Anguis was sentenced to 9 1/2 years in prison without parole for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and unlawful reentry after removal.

Anguis was in a car that was pulled over in September 2024 by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on Interstate 29. When the vehicle was searched, approximately 55.6 pounds of methamphetamine was found in a large duffle bag, as well as a loaded gun…
