The University of Utah has selected its contracting and build partner for the nearly 1,500-stall underground parking structure that is to be built off South Campus Drive. MHTN Architects will be designing the structure, and Okland Construction will construct it.
Construction will begin in early August. Parking pass fees will increase for both faculty and students as a result of the project. In addition to a planned incremental increase in parking fees, the University anticipates both foot traffic and roadway interruptions through the two years it will take to build the 8-level structure. The garage is a part of the U’s College Town Magic initiative.
Scope
MHTN Architects and Okland Construction worked with the University on both Kahlert Village and Gardner Commons. They were chosen through a public solicitation bid through BidNet.
