Gwinnett police and fire officials hosting child car seat check

Gwinnett County residents who are parents of infants and toddlers will have a chance next week to find out if their children’s car seats are properly installed.

The Gwinnett County Police Department, Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services and the Georgia Department of Health will team up on Aug. 7 for a Child Passenger Seat Checkup event at the Walmart Supercenter located at 3250 Sardis Church Road in Buford. The event will last from 10 a.m. until noon.

The event is designed to teach parents and other caregivers instructions on how to properly install car seats. Parents and caregivers don’t have to make an appointment to participate in the event. They do need to bring their vehicle, their car seat and instruction manuals, however…
