Clinton County Commission censures one of its own

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Tuesday morning, the Clinton County Commission voted 4 to 3 to officially censure Fourth District County Commissioner Brian Hurtekant.

Hurtekant is accused of posting an unredacted police report to his personal Facebook page that revealed the name of a juvenile involved in the recovery of Clinton County Sheriff Sean Dush’s handgun.

The gun was stolen from Dush’s car and recovered May 30 by Lansing Police. Clinton County Prosecutor Tony Spagnuolo referred the case to the Office of the Attorney General for a special prosecutor to review whether or not Dush violated Michigan’s new gun storage laws, allowing the gun to be taken and sold illegally on the streets.

Dush has accused Spagnuolo of a “political witch hunt.”…
