PENSACOLA, Fla. — Melanie Hendrix, a teacher at Booker T. Washington High School, has been named the 2026 Florida History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
Hendrix is a veteran educator with 33 years of experience. She teaches AP U.S. History, as well as honors and regular U.S. History courses.
