Funeral director accused of stealing dead man’s $2M estate released on bond

HOUSTON – Unique Green, the Houston-area funeral director arrested on five felonies last week, has been released from jail after posting an $800,000 bond.

Green, who also is referred to as Michael in court records, is accused of stealing a dead man’s more than $2 million estate while posing as his spouse and working as an unlicensed funeral director at A Community Funeral Home.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Green was released from jail just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday. The bonding company would not provide information about who paid any of the money that led to Green’s release.

Houston Police and the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office had been investigating Green for months after executing a search warrant at the funeral home mid-service late last year…
