The New Orleans coroner has released the identity of a man found dead in the Orleans Justice Center on Monday morning.
Saliou Thiam, 40, was discovered unresponsive at around 6:30 a.m. in his cell on in Unit E on the second floor of Orleans Justice Center’s housing unit during a deputy’s rounds. EMS pronounced him dead.
Thiam had been awaiting trial on two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of resisting an officer after being booked into jail on Nov. 11, 2025.
