Skateboard rider flown to Harborview after collision near Kitsap Mall

A man was flown to a Seattle hospital Tuesday night after he crashed into an oncoming car just outside the Kitsap Mall while riding an e-skateboard.

According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kitsap Mall Boulevard and Poplars Avenue, just south of the mall. The driver of the car reportedly told deputies he was driving home from work when a man on an e-skateboard rode into his car’s front end and windshield at high speed.

The man on the e-skateboard was wearing a helmet during the incident, KCSO said, and was conscious and able to communicate before being transported by Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue.
