Honolulu’s Korean Festival is returning to Kapiolani Park next Saturday, bringing a sprawling lineup of Korean comfort food, street snacks, icy desserts and enough rice cakes to make lunch plans feel wildly insufficient. The 22nd annual event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with food taking center stage alongside music, dance and cultural performances.
According to the Star-Advertiser’s food preview, Christ United Methodist Church will serve cup patbingsu, tteokbokki, kimbap, hotteok and kimchi pancakes. Aiea Grace Church is also bringing tteokbokki and hotteok, along with mandu, kimbap and sotteok sotteok.
A Festival Menu Built For Grazing
The choices keep moving well beyond the usual barbecue plate. Hangane will offer cucumber kimchi, la galbi and kimchi pancakes, while Hi One Sushi plans to serve kongguksu, the chilled soybean noodle soup that is practically designed for a humid Honolulu afternoon.
The Star-Advertiser’s preview also highlights Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt, which will showcase strawberry guava, mango and Smurf fizz drinks. Waba Snacks is known for bungeoppang, the fish-shaped pastry filled with sweet red bean paste, and Hawaiian Honey Cones will offer J-shaped treats filled with Hokkaido-style vanilla ice cream…
