Summer Waugh, 18, remains in the Palm Beach County Jail Thursday morning following her Wednesday arrest by Lantana Police. The incident report, obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, does a much better job of explaining what happened than anything we could rewrite, so we’re publishing it as we received it, with just a few redactions:

“On 07/29/2026 at approximately 2318 hours, I was dispatched to (the unit block) of N 11th Street, Lantana, FL 33462, in response to a domestic disturbance. Dispatch advised that W/F Summer Lynn Waugh called stating she had battered someone. Upon arrival, I witnessed Summer being detained by Sergeant Diaz and Officer Briggs; she was on the ground in handcuffs, crying and screaming.

Summer was placed in the back of a patrol car by the two officers. Upon questioning, W/M Darrell Len McNew provided a sworn statement that Summer had battered him by slapping him once and punching him three times afterwards, all in the face. Darrell also had no visible injury to his face, denied medical attention, denied photographic evidence being taken, and denied his Marcy’s Law rights; however, he did sign a non-prosecution for for the battery…
