UVA Health researchers identify new approach for brain tumor treatment

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Researchers at UVA Health have identified a promising approach to improving care for brain tumors using focused ultrasound — carefully aimed sound waves — to help drugs reach their target.

The research team is measuring how briefly opening the blood-brain barrier with sound waves can allow medicine to pass through.
