PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WRBL) — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) Southeast Region is warning residents of an upcoming roadway restriction coming to US-280 West.
According to ALDOT, they will be implementing a ‘No Turn on Red’ restriction beginning on Thursday at the intersection where motorists turn right off of US-280 West onto US-80 East, or JR Allen Parkway.
ALDOT officials say the new restriction is due to motorists failing to yield to oncoming traffic turning onto JR Allen Parkway when they have a flashing yellow arrow.
While motorists were originally expected to yield at a flashing yellow arrow, they will now be required to stop at the red light and wait for a green arrow before turning right onto JR Allen Parkway…
