PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) – City Councilman Roy Smith took it upon himself last week to see a data center up close.
Smith toured a facility in Atlanta owned by Edged Energy – the same company proposing to build a data center on Telegraph Road in Prichard. He shared his observations Wednesday with Prichard residents, some of whom remain skeptical. But he told FOX10 News that he came away surprised by what he found out about a topic that has become a lightning rod of controversy in Prichard and across the country.
“I think it’s something that we need to revisit again and not be in a haste to just write them off because of all the wrong information that we have received,” he said. “And I think that we need to just look at the facts and go from there.”…
