Flower Child opened its first Nebraska location at Regency Shopping Center on June 30 in a freestanding building designed from the ground up for the concept. Restaurateur Sam Fox opened the first Flower Child in Phoenix in 2014 as part of Fox Restaurant Concepts. It is the second of Fox’s concepts to arrive in Omaha, following the recent opening of North Italia at Village Pointe.
In 2019, The Cheesecake Factory acquired Fox Restaurant Concepts, and the remaining interest in North Italia, bringing both brands under the same parent company.
Flower Child’s cheerful building is difficult to miss with vibrant citrus murals, bright green trim and black-and-white awnings. It’s almost exactly between Fleming’s and Whole Foods.
Inside, abundant natural light, potted greenery, patterned tile and a collection of pendant lights create a bright, welcoming atmosphere. The dining room is colorful without becoming obnoxious, with an open kitchen and large glass doors connecting it to a covered patio.
It’s a full-kitchen, fast-casual restaurant where guests order at the counter before grabbing a table. The health-conscious menu reaches far beyond salads, with bowls, wraps and customizable entrées sharing space with veggies, grains and nutritious versions of familiar comfort foods…
