Rockaway Beach supermarket workers beaten by pair of shoplifters who remain at large weeks later: NYPD

Police from the 100th Precinct in Rockaway Beach are looking for two young shoplifters who beat up two store employees who caught them red-handed and confronted them.

Police say the brawl broke out on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 8, at the Key Food supermarket at 87-15 Rockaway Beach Blvd. after a 46-year-old male store employee and his 42-year-old male co-worker saw the suspects leaving the store just before 6 p.m. When they were ordered to stop, the perpetrators attacked, punching both men multiple times with closed fists before running off in an unknown direction, police said. The two victims sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects on July 29 and described them as having dark complexions and dreadlocks. One had a goatee and a medium build and wore a light blue T-shirt and dark pants, while his accomplice had a thin build and wore a blue T-shirt, black shorts, black sneakers and a light blue hair bonnet…
