ROCKFORD — George Harker is ready to show that some of the smallest competitors at the upcoming Rockford Boxing Classic can put on a big show.
The 10-year-old boxer is preparing for his first bout in front of his new hometown since moving here from the United Kingdom less than a year ago. He’ll face off against Jose Colon of Chicago in front of an expected crowd of more than 1,000 fans.
“I feel anxious, but I’m ready for it. I’ve been training hard — two times a day. Pushing myself to my limits,” Harker said. “I’m ready for it, 100 percent.”…
