(FOX40.COM) — A Stockton nonprofit is proposing a new canine campus that could provide shelter and care for hundreds of stray dogs while helping ease pressure on the city’s animal services system.
Stockton Streetdogs founder Jesse Mejia told FOX40 the organization is working with Stockton’s city manager to finalize a location for the facility, which would be largely privately funded. One preliminary option is an empty parcel on South Union Street, though other locations are still under consideration.
