SPRINGFIELD, Mo — In Monday’s city council meeting, city manager David Cameron spoke about quality-of-life concerns in the downtown area coming from businesses and residents.
Cameron started off by mentioning that crime rates in the city are down compared to last year, saying in the manager’s report this week, it talks about how the city is comparing over last year from a crime statistic over the historical reporting that we’ve done is crime being down by 8.6% and police recruitment being stronger.”
However, despite the decrease in crime, Cameron said “what citizens are talking mostly about are those quality-of-life issues. And specifically, the complaints continue to rise in the downtown area.”…
