Friday event in Kesey Square will feature Mexican music and Caribbean dance

Organizers of Latino and Hispanic celebrations in Springfield are hosting a series of community events in downtown Eugene this summer, and the series wraps up Friday evening in Kesey Square.

“I think we were overdue to do some activities in Eugene, so we thought that this would be a good opportunity to kind of do activities there through these events, and invest some funding to build engagement with our Latino Hispanic community there,” said Antonio Huerta, director of the nonprofit Comunidad y Herencia Cultural, which puts on Noche Cultural and Herencia Hispana in Springfield.

This Friday evening, July 31, from 6 to 9 p.m, the organization will host Noches en Comunidad in Kesey Square on the corner of East Broadway and Willamette Street downtown.
