STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Notorious Staten Island mob turncoat Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano has emerged as an unlikely figure in the federal case against former FBI Director James Comey after feds allegedly sought his input on the meaning of the phrase “86” at the center of the prosecution.
According to court filings submitted by Comey’s legal team in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, federal investigators interviewed Gravano this spring as they examined the meaning of the numbers “8647” in Comey’s social media post and whether it constituted a threat against President Donald Trump.
A case agent first contacted Gravano, formerly of Graniteville, by phone on May 8 to arrange a formal interview, according to the filings. During that call, Gravano said he believed Comey “had to know” what the term “86” meant “as it related to killing someone,” the filings said…
