The U.S. Small Business Administration announced on July 31 that its Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Ames will close at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31, while the Des Moines location will remain open to serve survivors of recent severe storms and flooding in Iowa.
The Ames center was established to assist businesses and residents affected by storms occurring from July 2 to July 4. Until its closure, SBA customer service representatives are available to answer questions, explain the disaster loan program, and help finalize approved loans. Chris Stallings, Associate Administrator of the Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience at SBA, said, “Disaster Loan Outreach Centers connect survivors with the information, guidance, and support needed to begin recovery. Our staff provide one-on-one assistance throughout the application process and help ensure every survivor understands the disaster assistance available to them.”
The Story County center is located at the Human Services Building in Ames and operates Thursday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., closing at 7 p.m. on July 31.
